Anti-wear pipe covers are a specialized accessory widely used in the windward side of heating surface pipes such as superheaters, reheaters, economizers, and water-cooled wall pipes in boiler systems. Its main function is to protect the windward surface of the boiler pipeline, reduce pipeline wear, and extend the service life of the heating surface pipes. Mainly used on pipes with fins, such as water-cooled wall pipes, economizer pipes, etc.
The cross-sectional shape of pipe shield is generally semi circular (180 degrees), and there are also shapes with other angles. Anti wear pads can be divided into various types based on their shape, including straight anti wear pads, inner bend anti wear pads, outer bend anti wear pads, side bend anti wear pads, S-shaped bend anti wear pads, and so on.
The length of the straight anti wear plate can range from 20mm to 3000mm, with common lengths ranging from 1000-2000mm. For anti wear tiles with bends, detailed machining drawings need to be provided. Bend pipes need to consider parameters such as the outer diameter and bending radius of the pipe. The inner diameter of the anti wear pad is usually 1-3mm larger than the outer diameter of the pipe used, which is determined based on actual needs.
As the usage time of the boiler increases, the wear and repair costs of the pipeline will also increase. The service life of pipe wear plate is longer than that of boiler pipelines, with lower costs and convenient replacement. Therefore, many power plants try to install anti wear pads on pipelines that may wear out, especially for large units, which require the use of more anti wear pads to protect the pipelines.
