Thrust bearing DG600-240-06-00 (also known as thrust tile or thrust disc) is a mechanical component used to withstand and disperse axial forces in feedwater pumps. The thrust bearing is usually installed behind the pump impeller, on the same axis as the pump impeller, at the outlet end of the pump casing. The design and materials of thrust bearings are crucial for their performance in steam driven feedwater pumps.

The steam driven feedwater pump mainly consists of components such as pump wheel, impeller, pump casing, inlet and outlet pipelines, etc. Among them, the pump wheel is the core component of the steam driven feedwater pump. The impeller is a blade on the pump wheel used to guide the flow of steam. The pump casing is the outer shell of the pump, which serves as a seal and protection. The inlet and outlet pipelines are used to connect the pump casing and boiler. 

 

Main functions of thrust bearings:
- Bearing axial force: During the operation of the steam driven feedwater pump, the pump wheel will generate axial force due to the action of steam. The thrust bearing is located at the axial load point of the pump impeller and can withstand and disperse these axial forces, preventing them from concentrating on the pump impeller or shaft, thereby protecting the pump impeller and shaft from damage.

- Maintain the position of the pump wheel: The thrust bearing helps to keep the pump wheel in the correct position by contacting it, preventing displacement of the pump wheel due to axial force.

- Reducing friction: Thrust bearings are usually made of wear-resistant materials, such as hard alloy or bearing alloy, which have a lower coefficient of friction and can reduce the friction between the pump wheel and the pump casing, reducing the operating power consumption and maintenance cost of the pump.
